Quality control begins with the approved drawing, material, critical dimensions, finish and documentation requirements—not with final inspection alone. Formexi plans first-piece, in-process and final checks according to part risk and the agreed order requirements.

1. Pre-Production Control

  • Review quotation, purchase order, drawing revision and technical clarifications
  • Confirm material grade, condition and required certificate
  • Identify critical dimensions, datums, appearance surfaces and inspection documents
  • Define process routing, first-piece checks and external finishing controls

2. First-Piece and In-Process Inspection

A first piece is checked before the batch continues where project risk requires it. Inspection frequency is based on tolerance, process stability, quantity and tool-wear risk. Formexi does not describe every dimension on every part as “100% inspected” unless that exact scope is agreed and recorded.

3. Final Inspection and Release

Final checks may include dimensions, threads, appearance, roughness, surface treatment, quantity, documentation and packaging. Only authorized quality personnel may release parts after the agreed requirements are satisfied.

Nonconforming Parts and Corrective Action

Suspected nonconforming output is identified and isolated. Confirmed problems are reviewed for containment, responsibility, rework or remanufacture, customer communication and prevention. An 8D or corrective-action report is provided only when the project and issue justify that scope.

Information Buyers Must Provide

Inspection cannot compensate for an ambiguous drawing or requirements disclosed after production. Identify functional dimensions, datum references, cosmetic zones, sampling/full-inspection needs and required reports before order approval.
