CNC Machined Shafts and Precision Pins

Formexi machines custom shafts and pins where diameter, straightness, runout, concentricity, threads and surface finish control fit and motion. Process may combine turning, milling, heat treatment and grinding depending on material, length, hardness and final tolerance.

Requirements That Drive the Route

Requirement Process concern
Length-to-diameter ratio Deflection, support and straightness
Bearing or seal journal Diameter, roundness, roughness and hardness
Multiple diameters Concentricity and datum strategy
Cross-holes/flats/keyways Secondary milling, live tooling or mill-turn review
Heat treatment Distortion and finish-grinding allowance

Material Selection

1045 and 4140 are often considered for stronger shafts; stainless steel for selected corrosive environments; aluminum for low load and low weight; brass or plastic for specialized friction or insulation. Final material depends on load, wear, environment and surface treatment.

Turning, Grinding and Process Sequence

General diameters may be turned directly. Tight bearing surfaces, hardened diameters or demanding roughness may require stock allowance, heat treatment and grinding. The drawing should identify which surfaces are functional instead of applying the same finish to the complete shaft.

Thread and Edge Control

Specify thread standard, class, effective length, relief and inspection gauge. Chamfers and edge breaks affect assembly; pin ends intended for press fit or location should not be deburred without a defined geometry.

Inspection

Inspection may include micrometers, indicators, centers/fixtures, roundness-capable methods, thread gauges and roughness measurement. Exact long-shaft and grinding capacity remains subject to equipment/network verification.

Our Review Method for CNC Machined Shafts and Precision Pins Requirements

When the buyer needs a supplier response tied to the actual part rather than a generic capability statement, a broad promise can leave geometry, material, quality, cost and delivery assumptions unresolved. For CNC Machined Shafts and Precision Pins, our engineering and quotation review turns the drawing and purchase requirement into documented process, inspection and approval questions before price or production is confirmed. This helps reduce rework, approval delays and avoidable purchasing cost without turning a screening assumption into a capability guarantee.

For the CNC Machined Shafts and Precision Pins buying decision, we confirm the route only after reviewing the controlled drawing and model, material, quantities, critical requirements, finish, quality documents, target date, destination and confidentiality needs. Any unresolved item is listed as an RFQ clarification so the buyer can compare scope, evidence, price and lead time on the same basis.
